Graphic Design: The Right Computer to Use

For graphic designing, a designer needs to avail a proper computer that supports the needed high quality software and hardware. It’s not possible for a cheap and low priced computer to be the working solution of professional graphic design. Few years ago in the eighties, Mac used to be the only PC choice for graphic designers. Though there were softwares that could be used on a Microsoft Windows PC, Mac was the only reliable solution that was updated with graphic design technologies.

But today with new developments, modern versions of Mac OS X and Windows provide designers with ample scopes to choose from. If you are a graphic designer but is not proficient in IT, deciding on the right computer can be a tough task for you. If you are not constrained by a budget then just opting for the most expensive Apple Mac or Windows PC is the easy solution available. But mostly, it’s not possible for a designer to afford a pricey device and they opt for second hand equipment. While availing a used machine, a designer should make sure that it is provided with features such as printer color accuracy, monitor calibration, hard disk speed, external storage devices and more.

When I say ‘banner blindness’‚ I am not referring to ‘color blindness’ that hinders a colorblind viewer’s ability to percept colors as they are. Banner blindness is more a disease of the Internet that occurs in viewers who have been hooked on to the web for many nears.

Banners have been around for quite sometime now, and as traditional advertising mediums, used widely across varied sites. So much so‚ we have almost come to expect a banner ad on sites we visit, and we also know that we have to bypass it for real, informative content. Ignoring banners almost work like an involuntary reflex and sometimes we literally don’t see it. It’s like walking past your office reception and looking at the receptionist, but not really noticing what she’s wearing.
